PHYSICAL THERAPY

Physical therapy at NRC/TASS focuses on improving bodily strength and movement to maximize each client's independence, safety, and ability to return to their prior level of function. Every client undergoes thorough bio mechanical and neurological evaluations throughout the rehabilitation process. We consider each client's musculoskeletal pathology and develop a personalized treatment plan.

Each treatment plan includes ADL (Activities of Daily Living) such as dressing, self-feeding, bathing, laundry, and meal preparation. Addtionally, we utilize the following ROM (Range of Motion) exercises to increase joint movement and flexability:

Passive Range of Motion (PROM): With PROM, the client applies no effort to move the joint, which is moved through a variety of stretching exercises by a physical therapist or with the help of equipment.

Active Assisted Range of Motion (AAROM): With AAROM, the client uses the muscles around a weak joint to complete stretching exercises with the help of a physical therapist or equipment.

Active Range of Motion (AROM): With AROM, the client performs stretching exercises, moving the muscles around a weak joint without any aid.

Our physical therapists work with each client to optimize their quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and patient education. Patient education is a critical component of our physical therapy rehabilitation service. Our experience has shown that a greater level of success is achieved by keeping patients educated about why they are receiving treatment and what to expect.
